#1 Filipino Technology Innovators
We're an organization driven to achieve extraordinary feats. Born out of the passion to build brilliant Filipino engineers, we are devoted to pursuing the advancement of IT in the Philippines. Everyone on the team is multi-talented and superb at what they do, literally IT Rockstars. While we've been heavily involved in Open Source creation during our early years, our passion for technology has broadened our practice portfolio to include Ruby on Rails, iOS, and Android. We take pride in our work and we're inspired by our fellow "Exist-ers".
The term "enterprise" can have various connotations. I take it to mean large scale, corporate, high availability and mission critical. Going back to its history, Ruby on Rails is an opinionated software. Also joining us from Morphlabs, was Jeremie Lim. The list of speakers and topics can be found here. I will provide a quick overview of my experience from the event and I hope to post another on more specific topics.
In the hopes of making headway in the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Philippine healthcare market, the Philippine Healthcare Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth launched October last year the first phase of its e-claims project dubbed the "Claims Eligibility Web Service" or CEWS. According to PhilHealth, the CEWS will allow a hospital (or any accredited healthcare provider) to validate a patient's member registration and contributions with PhilHealth immediately, thereby "reducing turnaround time in eligibility verification as well as reducing the number of return-to-hospital (RTH) claims".
An iPad app for this, an iPad app for that. But vertical-wise, as Apple clearly knows, medicine and healthcare is where iPad's bright future is at.
Ruby on Rails has emerged as one of the hottest technologies for quite a few years now. Going on eight years, Ruby on Rails is quickly moving into new arenas: major applications in everything from e-commerce to productivity to content, to name a few. Although the growth of Ruby on Rails has become a debatable topic among the experts, we can't deny the fact that demand for these skills have picked up significantly and still seeing the most growth in jobs of any language out there.
